11 Months Old

At 11 Months:

Weight: 19.7 lbs
        Percentile: 55
Height: 29 inches
        Percentile: 70
Sleep: Sleep has for the most part been really good. Since getting her cast off most days she gets two one-two hour long naps a day and sleeps in until 830 (which has been heaven). She still has rough days here and there, like she had a small cold at one point and slept poorly but most of the time she is down to waking up once at night in twelve hours.
Clothing size: 12 months clothes and size 3 diapers. She is starting to get too big for 9 month clothes but still wears a few.
Milestones: Elli now has 4 teeth with a fifth incredibly close to breaking through the gums. She is crawling (was in the cast and is army crawling now that she's out of it) and standing up (she hasn't figured out how to get herself standing yet but she can stand if you put her on her feet). She also can sit up from laying down now without any help. Elli also can talk now! She says a few words that are just adorable. She knows how to clap and wave and give kisses as well. Elli also can whistle every once in awhile, smack her lips and click her tongue. It's adorable.
Special Outings: We had two thanksgivings this month, one with the Savage family and one with Papa and Mimie. It was a very good month.
Month Highlights: Elli got her cast off this month! That is the biggest highlight of the month. The doctor said her hip is looking great though it is still a little behind her right side but should catch up fast. We have a follow-up in march to make sure everything looks good. Until then she will wear her rhino brace at night for at least 6 weeks but as long as it still fits we may leave it on her longer just to continue to help her hip form correctly. We got to go swimming and take a bath everyday again, which Elli still loves. Elli now points at what she wants and is getting better at letting you know what she wants. We also decorated our christmas tree and wrapped all of our presents, which Elli thought was very fun.
Big Changes: Elli is starting to mimic you when you talk. If you laugh she laughs too, it's seriously adorable. She now says Hi, Bye, All Gone, Uh-oh, Mama, Dada, Yay when she claps, and when you ask her what the tiger says she answers with GRR, Woof for what the puppy says and sometimes meow for what the kitty says. She will also repeat other things when you say them to her. She is constantly babbling now and starting to throw tempter tantrums and cry when you take something away from her or don't give her what she wants. She also cries every time she falls down when standing because she gets so mad. She knows what the tv remote does and points it at the tv when she gets a hold of it, and can use the remote to turn on our christmas lights which she thinks is very fun.
Elli's Favorites: cords, fruit snacks, pulling the wipes out of the package then trying to put them back in, clapping, standing up, bath time, swimming, being tossed in the air, shoulder rides with daddy, books, being naked, her stacking cups, splashing in water, cell phones, pictures and videos of herself, her stuffed animals, not wearing socks and pulling them off every chance she gets, banging on the keyboard of computers.
Thoughts: This month has been so fun. Elli is growing every day and has the biggest personality. It's been so good to see her out of the cast and dress her in cute clothes again. She has surprisingly been more fussy since getting the cast off which of course makes me a nervous wreck constantly that maybe it came out of socket and we don't know it. I'm trying to just make the most of it though and just assume the best until our next follow-up. Elli learning to talk is adorable. She is a very smart baby. I also have loved seeing how much she loves her daddy and how much he loves her. She has started calling for him when she wants him, it's pretty much just almost more than I can handle it's so cute. I can't wait to see her for her first christmas and meeting santa this next month.

CASTS OFF!!!

This week has been great! On monday we went to the doctor and got Elli's followup xrays taken and her cast taken off. I've been a nervous wreck all week that they were going to tell us that the cast hadn't worked but after the xray the doctor said everything is looking great still. Her left hip is still a little behind her right in development but it's catching up quickly. Everything looks great according to him. We will put a brace on her for nights and nap times for at least the next 6 weeks and then have another follow up in 3 months.

Elli didn't love the cast saw, but she really did pretty good overall and hardly even cried all that much. And as soon as it was off she was happy again. She was a little crabby the rest of the day, I think she was a little sore but she as loving the freedom. She came home and took a 2.5 hour nap and then played and played. We gave her a bath tonight at she loved that. She kicked and kicked like crazy and splashed. It was so fun. And she got to wear real jammies. It was the best.

Since then she has started to army crawl again and tried to figure out how to get up on her knees and will stand now if you help her keep her balance. It's so much fun to have her have legs again. And I'm pretty sure that having her in pants is the cutest thing in the whole wide world.
