Sleep: Sleep has been okay. Elli refuses to nap longer than 45 minutes most of the time and wakes up 2 times a night to nurse usually though we have had a few better nights lately. We have been working on transitioning her out of her swaddle because I don't think we'll be able to swaddle her in the cast so we want to get her out of it now. She hasn't been swaddled for her naps for almost a month, and can I just say it actually is super nice to not have to worry about it. We are still working on night time though. Hopefully by the time we go home next week we'll be swaddle free.
Clothing size: She is wearing a little 3-6 clothes still and also 6-9 or 6-12 although 6-12 are way big on her the 3-6 are starting to get too small. She is also still in size 3 diapers.

Milestones: Elli is getting really good at sitting up now. She is trying very hard to crawl and wants desperately to be mobile but I just think her dislocated hip just doesn't quite work right because she can't get it up under her like she does the other side. Hopefully she'll pick it up really fast once she is cast free. She is also talking more, laughing more and has amazing fine motor skills. She is eating a lot more solids and getting pretty good at feeding herself little puff treats with a pincer grip.
Special Outings: We had Elli's doctors appointments which I think I already wrote about, if not it was her six month appointment where we got her shots, and switched doctors. We also had another hip appointment, which I wrote about in another post. We also went to st george for daddy's birthday and that was very fun and incredibly hot.
Month Highlights: Elli's surgery is scheduled for September ninth. We are getting pretty sick of waiting for it to be here. Elli is getting very good at sitting up on her own and trying very hard to be mobile. We no longer swaddle her for naps and am getting very close to having her unswaddled at bedtime too. She is starting to talk more, is more aware, and you can't leave anything around her or else it is in her mouth.
Big Changes: We tried lots of new foods this month, including pickles which she loved. I was very surprised. We got a new carseat for Elli's brace to fit and she loves it so much and that makes car rides even more enjoyable. She recognizes certain people now and loves her mom and dad so much.
Elli's Favorites: Elli loves paper. She loves pretty much any kind of food and swimming. She loves the cats and pets them and pulls out their hair like crazy. She likes when you blow on her face and scare her and being thrown up in the air. She also loves going outside and loves to look at trees and flowers. She's getting easier to put down for naps and bedtime too which is heavenly. We switched kinds of binkies on her and the new ones are so much better now. Thoughts: My baby is growing up way too fast. I love watching her discover the world and learn new things so much but it's a little sad to me how fast she is becoming a non-baby anymore. I can't wait until she can be mobile and crawl and walk and she is getting so close but we aren't there yet. The idea of her getting into a cast is getting so sad to me. I just wish we could get it all overwith and not have to wait anymore for it. Just one more month though and we will be on the countdown instead of counting up to getting it on.
